The babies were asleep in their cribs while I was strapped in with one of them on my back. Ha! We were getting closer to completing, however we were a long distance to go. In this undertaking I was ready to invest a significant amount of money and spend time looking for my dream house. My three sons and I were looking for the hidden treasures attending estate sales in order to ensure that my spending was under control. We would go from the week of Thursday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales buying brand new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished the driveway throughout the week. The furniture looked like this... and that's the place I discovered my love for restoring. Even though our home had been furnished, I could not quit. There was a place in the market that I could sell my items. Eventually, I had too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. Over 1000 people visited my home over the course of a weekend, to shop for everything that was on the ground. My venture Growing Days began here. In addition to my thriving business, I also grew our family. Being a new mom, I found the right balance to both start my own business and also be a good mother. Growing Days seemed like the perfect fit. In 2013, my lovely daughter Nora came along our 4th child. The direction my company was heading was fantastic, but I was forced to take some time off. I made the decision to take a break and stay at home, spending time with my family. That was precisely what I was looking for. Within a couple of months, the phone began to begin to. A lot of people contacted me to ask for advice about home improvement or decorating. A majority of those calling me were from those who came to my house at one of my furniture open house events. After that, I gradually took on more clients, in my own way. Soon I had multiple customers and was operating a business of home renovations. Most likely, I would have been laughing if somebody had informed me that my company was to become the premise of an upcoming tv program on DIY Network. Actually, I smile a little when I remember the story.
